AES helps illuminate it's local town Stratford Upon Avon in two very special events
The season is upon us and for AES this is a particularly busy time...our elves (and design engineers) are busy preparing for the Stratford Upon Avon Christmas light switch on, which this year will be held on the 22nd November 4.30pm. While the final preparations come to a head in November, we actually begin our efforts in the workshop over the Summer.
The challenge in Stratford is the abundance of large, listed buildings that block the line of sight. The festive lights are spread out along several roads in the town centre. The electronic solution uses meshed networking to send and repeat signals across the network. This rapid exchange of signals ensures that all of the lights are illuminated at the same time.
We have been providing and maintaining the electronic control system for our local town Christmas lights for the past four years and enjoy supporting the local town council in making the Christmas lights something special for our local residents and the many visitors we have visit our historic town.
This year there was the additional challenge of illuminating the poppy display on the Town Hall, marking the 100 year anniversary since the end of the First World War.
